Welcome to Rho Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Nebraska!

“Yesterday, today, and tomorrow Kappa Alpha Theta exists to nurture each member throughout her college and alumnae experience, and to offer a lifelong opportunity for social, intellectual and moral growth as she meets the higher and broader demands of mature life.”

I hope this website gives you the opportunity to learn more about who the women of Rho Theta are and the opportunities this sisterhood has to offer.

Here at Kappa Alpha Theta, we are guided by our Fraternity’s four points of the kite—personal excellence, leadership potential, commitment to service, and intellectual curiosity. One of the most esteemed features of our chapter is that we not only pride ourselves in representing our values, but we are also well-balanced women. As Rho Thetas, we demonstrate passion for academics, leadership potential, enthusiasm for philanthropies, and sincerity towards one another and all other organizations on campus.

Our chapter demonstrates a strong commitment to service by supporting our national philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization that provides love, support, and protection for children in the welfare system. In the fall, we hold our annual 5K for CASA run and in the spring, you may find University students strutting down the runway for our KATwalk for CASA. In addition to our signature philanthropies, we organize other service opportunities throughout the year to support the Lincoln community.

Our constant encouragement, support, and loyalty as sisters are just some of the pieces that encompass Rho chapter. We make every endeavor to be exceptional role models for one another as well as leaders within our organization, campus and community.

You may find a Rho Theta serving on Student Government, planning the University’s next Dance Marathon, cheering on our athletic teams as a member of the Husker Spirit Squad, or volunteering as a mentor through Teammates or Nebraska Human Resources Institute (to name a few). In addition, we have traveled the world through study abroad programs and mission trips, created connections with business leaders through internships, and expanded our knowledge through research opportunities. Rho Thetas keep their schedules busy, but always find time to strengthen our sisterhood and have fun.

I am so proud to represent some of the most diverse, genuine, and dependable women I have had the privilege of knowing. I truly believe I am a part of something bigger than myself as this sisterhood has given me so much. I thank Kappa Alpha Theta for opening my eyes to the enriching bond of sisterhood. It is the experiences that I have encountered and the friendships I have shared with these women that will always comfort me to live by our open motto: Theta for a Lifetime.
